The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to evacuate its citizens who are currently stranded in Israel and Iran, following the rising conflict between the two countries.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, said the government is finalising emergency arrangements to bring Nigerians back home safely.
According to the Minister, Nigerian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran are working hard to contact and support Nigerians living in those areas. He advised all affected citizens to follow security instructions and quickly register with the nearest Nigerian embassy for help.
“The Nigerian government is fully committed to the safety and welfare of its citizens, both at home and abroad,” Tuggar said.

He also thanked Nigerian diplomats in both countries for their efforts in keeping in touch with the Nigerian communities during this tense period.
Ambassador Tuggar explained that Nigeria is working closely with international partners and local authorities to make sure the evacuation is well-planned, timely, and secure.
Meanwhile, the government has again called for an end to the fighting and urged all parties involved to choose dialogue and peace. It also asked them to follow international humanitarian laws and protect the lives of innocent people.
Nigeria has repeated its strong belief in peaceful solutions and its commitment to peace and stability both in the region and across the world.
