The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has cleared the air on speculations of impending mass disconnection of telephone subscribers. The NCC said the speculations arose as a result of numerous publications in both the print and electronic media on the ongoing linkage of SIM registration records with the National Identity Number (NIN). The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 1204 new COVID-19 infections in Nigeria. NCDC made the announcement on its verified Twitter handle on Monday night. It noted that with the latest infections, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country now stand at 91,351. The public health agency said that the new cases were reported in 20 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The NCDC further said it recorded seven additional COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
