Muslim faithful, community leaders, and well-wishers converged on Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, on Sunday, March 15, 2026, as Dr. Femi Bakre and his siblings hosted a special Ramadan lecture to remember their late father, Alhaji Soliu Noibi Bakre.
The solemn event featured Qur’anic recitations, supplications, and spiritual talks from Islamic scholars, drawing family, friends, and residents to pray for the patriarch’s soul.
Key Lecture: ‘Reliance on God’
Guest lecturer Sheikh Alhaji Abdul Lateef Salaudeen delivered a talk titled “Reliance on God,” stressing the need to trust Allah in all endeavors. “Whoever relies on God will never be put to shame,” he said, urging patience for divine timing. Citing the Qur’an, he called reliance—putting God first—a core Islamic virtue and praised Alhaji Bakre’s lasting legacy in Ago-Iwoye. Salaudeen advised the family to uphold it.

Royal Endorsement
Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul-Razaq Adesina Adenugba, commended the Bakres for their annual lecture, calling the late Alhaji a leading Islamic figure. He prayed for family unity and urged clerics to shun bitterness, live peacefully, and pray for the town’s progress.
Family’s Gratitude
Dr. Femi Bakre thanked Allah for his father’s life of service, humility, and dedication. “This lecture seeks divine mercy, forgiveness, and Aljanah Firdaus for him, while guiding our family,” he said. He credited his father for their Islamic foundation and called for blending it with Western education, plus unity among local clerics.
Clerics wrapped up by encouraging deeper Ramadan reflection, charity, and prayers for community and national peace. The event ended with prayers for the Bakre family and Ago-Iwoye, celebrating the late leader’s enduring contributions.
