The MacGregor Family of Ilawo Royal House has issued a strongly worded disclaimer, distancing itself from a recent publication described as “fictitious” and “provocative.”
In a statement released and signed by Alhaji Najeem Adesina MacGregor, on behalf of the entire GB MacGregor Family both home and abroad, the royal household categorically denied any involvement in the report.
> “The entire MacGregor Family of Ilawo Royal House hereby categorically denies the statements, claims, quotations, and allegations contained in the one fictitious publication. No member of the Ilawo Royal Family, principal or extended, authorised, made, or endorsed any of the comments attributed to ‘family sources,’ relatives, or unnamed insiders in the said report.”
The family emphasized that the narrative did not originate from any collective decision or consensus.

> “The family wishes to place on record that the narrative did not originate from any collective family decision, briefing, or consensus, and therefore does not reflect the true position, values, or intentions of the Ilawo Royal Family.”
The statement further identified Mutiu MacGregor as the sole source of the controversial publication, stressing that he does not represent the family.
> “The content of the publication emanated solely from one Mutiu MacGregor, who has long acted independently and contrary to family unity, and who is not recognised as speaking for, representing, or protecting the interests of the Ilawo Royal Family. His actions are viewed within the family as consistently provocative, disruptive, and hostile to peace, often aimed at creating division, tension, and public controversy where none exists.”
Reaffirming its commitment to tradition and unity, the Ilawo Royal House declared:
> “The MacGregors of Ilawo Royal Family remains committed to peace, dialogue, respect for tradition, and internal dispute resolution, and rejects all attempts by any individual to drag the family name, royal institution, or community into unnecessary public conflict.”
The family concluded by urging the public and media to disregard the report entirely.
> “Accordingly, the family disassociates itself entirely from the publication and urges the public and media to disregard the report in its entirety.”
