The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has urged residents and party supporters across the state to remain calm, assuring them that its governorship candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, will be published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and will emerge victorious in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Addressing the recent omission of Adebutu’s name from an INEC list, the party attributed the issue to intense pressure placed on the electoral body by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) out of fear of losing power.
In an official statement released on Saturday by Arc. Kayode Adebayo, Publicity Secretary of the Ogun State PDP, the opposition party noted that the ruling party’s desperate maneuvers stem from anxiety over the growing momentum of the PDP across the state.
Adebayo emphasized that Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu has never defected from the PDP and fulfilled all membership requirements within the designated digital registration period.

“The public should be informed that the omission of our candidate’s name in the INEC list is as a result of the undue pressure mounted by the ruling party on INEC out of fear of losing the election to our party,” Adebayo stated.
“We state emphatically that our candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, who has never left the Peoples Democratic Party at any time, duly registered as a member of the party within the designated period of the digital registration with his party membership card printed, verified, and submitted to INEC at the stipulated time.”
The PDP reassured the electorate that political scheming and calculated distractions would not stop Adebutu’s march toward the governorship seat.
“While we urge the good people of Ogun not to be perturbed nor distracted from our focus of voting out the APC, we remain resolute, unfazed, and unwaveringly confident that our candidate is marching straight to a decisive victory in the Ogun 2027 governorship election,” the statement continued. “No amount of desperate manipulation, political witch-hunts, or calculated distractions can alter the mandate of the people of Ogun State who are overwhelmingly eager for true leadership and positive change.”
The party concluded by calling on all supporters and residents to remain steadfast and unintimidated as the movement to bring relief to the state continues to build momentum ahead of the polls.
