AGO-IWOYE, OGUN STATE — Prince Farooq Adenugba, Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Ogun State on Housing, OPIC and Special Projects, is set to speak at a special counselling and mentorship session designed to inspire and guide secondary school students in Ijebu North State Constituency ll (Ifelodun).
The programme, organised by the Prince Segun Kaka Foundation (PSK) in collaboration with the Academic Excellence Initiative (AEI), Ijebu Zone, is scheduled to hold on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. prompt, at the Imososi Primary School Hall, Ago-Iwoye.
The session, themed “Failing Forward,” is expected to provide students with practical guidance on academic development, career choices, personal growth, and the importance of resilience in overcoming setbacks.
Prince Adenugba’s participation is particularly significant given his experience in public service and his growing engagement with young people across Ogun State. His interaction with the students is expected to go beyond conventional academic counselling, offering them an opportunity to learn from a public servant whose career reflects the importance of perseverance, leadership, strategic thinking, and purposeful service.
The programme also carries a strong community and political leadership dimension, coming at a time when there is increasing emphasis on youth development, education, and human-capital investment as critical pillars of sustainable development in Ogun State.
The host, Hon. Segun Kaka, Member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ijebu North State Constituency ll, has continued to place community engagement and youth-focused initiatives at the centre of his constituency activities. The collaboration with the Prince Segun Kaka Foundation and AEI, therefore, provides a platform for bringing young constituents closer to credible leaders and mentors.
Organisers have urged secondary school students across Ijebu North State Constituency ll to take advantage of the programme, describing it as an opportunity to acquire knowledge, build confidence and gain a clearer understanding of their future academic and career pathways.
With the theme “Failing Forward,” the message of the programme is expected to challenge young people to see failure not as the end of their aspirations, but as an opportunity to learn, improve and move forward.
The organisers have also called on parents, teachers, community leaders and stakeholders to encourage students to attend the session, stressing that investing in the intellectual and leadership development of young people remains one of the most important investments any community can make.
