The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, has promised to continue providing critical infrastructure across the state while ensuring that traditional institutions are promoted and accorded their rightful place in the affairs of the state.
Adebutu made the commitment when the committee of Odo Oje Egba, (masquerade group) led by the Alagba of Egbaland, Chief Gbenga Ojediran Fagbenro, hosted him at Sapon, in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The PDP governorship candidate said his administration would place strong emphasis on infrastructure, alternative energy solutions and fuel support, as part of measures to improve the quality of life and stimulate economic activities across the state.
Adebutu said the development agenda would go beyond physical infrastructure, stressing that his administration would establish stronger social welfare and security programmes to provide greater support and opportunities for the people.
He promised that Ogun State would witness tremendous growth and development through deliberate policies aimed at creating opportunities, supporting livelihoods and improving the welfare of residents.
Also speaking, the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Hon. Toyin Amuzu, pledged to facilitate more federal projects and interventions for the constituency.
Amuzu said his legislative agenda would focus on health, social welfare, infrastructure, education, empowerment and other initiatives capable of improving the lives of constituents and opening up new opportunities.
The event was also marked by a strong show of appreciation for Adebutu by members of the Association of Professional Printers, Imo Chapter, who arrived with a banner thanking him for facilitating a transformer for their community about four years ago.
The printers said they had known Adebutu long before the commencement of election campaigns and testified that he had remained supportive of them even when he was not in government.
According to them, his interventions had helped sustain their businesses and put food on their tables.
The association consequently declared its support for the PDP candidates, saying the time for change had come and urged voters to support the party in the forthcoming elections.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ogun State PDP, Dr. Abayomi Tella, promised that a PDP administration would ensure that funds meant for local governments get directly to them.
He said the policy would strengthen local governments, promote accountability and ensure more even development across communities in Ogun State.
