

A call has gone to well meaning Nigerians to complement the efforts of government aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the masses in the society.
The chairman of All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Abeokuta North Local government area of Ogun state, Hon Faida Akintunde Sarumi made the call during the presentation of school bags and other educational items to pupils and school children in Ago Ika and its environs at the unveiling of Imole Aibana foundation recently in Abeokuta.
Hon. Akintunde Sarumi stressed the importance of education and the need to provide qualitative education for the future generation aimed at building a better society in future.
While commending the initiator of the foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Aibana for these initiatives, she enjoined every stakeholder to emulate such gesture so as to build a better society for the children and the generation yet unborn for the overall interest of the country.


The chairman of Abeokuta north Local government, Hon Lanre Oyegbola Sodipo who was represented by his vice, Hon Taiyelolu Egbeyemi praised the commitment of the founder of the foundation saying that the gesture will go a long way in providing succuor to the parents who are preparing their wards for new school academic calendar.
Hon. Sodipo who also applauded the financial support to the aged and widows as well as assistance for NECO forms for number of secondary school students in the community urged other philanthropists in the state to emulate this kind gesture aimed at making the country a free society.
The chairman of APC, Ward 7 in Abeokuta north Local government, Mr Adekunle Musa thanked the founder of the foundation for organizing the programme in this trying period from the donations of items to Stella Obasanjo orphanage home in Ibara, the medical outreach where members of the society received tests in blood sugar, blood pressure with drugs free of charge and the provision of school bags, NECO exams to pupils and school children in the community as well as scholarships including providing cash gifts to the aged and widows in the community.
He urged the founder not to relent in such programmes assuring that he would be rewarded and compensated through the spirit of the beneficiaries of the programme.
Earlier in his speech, the founder of Imole Aibana foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Aibana said that the foundation has been in existence in Lagos with the purpose of providing lives and impacting community.
Alhaji Aibana hinted that since he has moved finally to Abeokuta, his home stead, he has no choice than to continue assisting people with various challenges and impacting better life in the society.
He stressed that the three days programme was a massive one which had opened his eyes to so many things in the area of humanitarian and philanthropy and most especially what people are really facing in the society.
Alhaji Sheriff therefore promised to extend the scope of the foundation, not captured, during the first outing to other areas for more people to benefit.
He said that his foundation was borne out of the need to complement the efforts of government in assisting people in the community since the government alone cannot provide all the needs of the citizen hence the need for every stakeholder in the country to contribute its own quota for the overall development of the country.
The founder of the foundation, Alhaji Aibana assured of organizing more programmes by the foundation on regular basis in and outside his community for a better society and development of the country.
