The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to evacuate its citizens who are currently stranded in Israel and Iran, following the rising conflict between the two countries. In a statement issued in Abuja, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, said the government is finalising emergency arrangements to bring Nigerians back home safely. According to the Minister, Nigerian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran are working hard to contact and support Nigerians living in those areas. The Governor of Borno state Gov. Babagana Zulum has granted partial pardons to 66 inmates serving various jail terms at the Maiduguri Maximum Custodial Centre.
