Ijebu Ode, Ogun State – Rite Foods Limited, Nigeria’s leading food and beverage company, once again demonstrated its strong commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage and community development as it proudly sponsored the 2025 edition of the iconic Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Held on Sunday, 8th June 2025, the vibrant celebration—centuries old and rich in tradition—brought together people from across Nigeria and beyond, uniting indigenes, tourists, and lovers of Yoruba culture under the theme “Celebrating Our Roots, Preserving Our Future.”

A major highlight of the festival was the majestic parade of the regberegbe (age-grade groups), adorned in elaborate traditional attire and arriving on horseback to pay homage to the revered Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. The spectacle was further enlivened by the presence of dignitaries including Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Rite Foods Chairman, Asiwaju Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa; its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Seleem Adegunwa; former Ogun State Governor Gbenga Daniel; Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Ondo State Deputy Governor Olayide Adelani, and the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, among other dignitaries from Ijebu.

Speaking at the event, Seleem Adegunwaemphasized the company’s deep-rooted connection to the Ijebu community. “Our continued support of Ojude Oba stems from our commitment to cultural preservation and the values of unity, pride, and tradition it embodies. As a proudly Nigerian company with roots in Ijebuland, we are honoured to play a role in sustaining this legacy.”

Also speaking, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, affirmed that Rite Foods’ investment in the festival reflects its role as a responsible corporate citizen. “Whatever the aspirations of Ijebu people are, we share in them. As a brand proudly made in Nigeria and made for Nigerians, our presence here is a natural expression of our identity and responsibility,” he stated.

Rite Foods added an energetic flair to the festival through engaging brand activations, including a spirited performance by team members decked in Sosa Fruit Drink-inspired outfits—complete with vibrant green hats—during the homage procession to the palace. Their colourful display and acrobatic performances drew cheers from the crowd and VIP guests alike.

In his address, Governor Dapo Abiodun commended Rite Foods for its sustained support of the Ojude Oba Festival, describing it as a catalyst for local economic growth and cultural tourism.

“This festival is a celebration of identity and a key driver of our cultural economy. We thank Rite Foods and other partners for keeping the spirit of Ojude Oba alive and thriving,” he said.

The Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, echoed the sentiment, highlighting Ojude Oba as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s cultural heritage with growing global recognition.

Rite Foods’ product portfolio includes 13 variants of Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, the fast-rising Sosa Fruit Drink in five delicious variants, the top-selling Fearless Energy Drink, and the popular Rite Spicy Beef and Bigi Beef Sausage Rolls—all proudly produced at its world-class facility in Ososa, Ogun State.

As the drums fade and the horses return to their stables, Rite Foods remains committed to refreshing Nigeria’s cultural and social landscape—one festival, one product, and one community at a time.
