

Dangote Group has issued a formal condolence message following the death of Ruth Otabor, who sustained injuries in a recent road accident involving one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Ruth Otabor,” the statement read. “On behalf of the entire Dangote Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones at this difficult time.”
According to the company, Otabor had been receiving medical support since the incident, with all financial and medical costs covered by Dangote officials and insurance partners. “Arrangements had been made for her to be flown to India for advanced treatment, pending medical clearance from doctors,” the statement noted. “Sadly, despite these efforts and Ruth’s brave fight to live, we lost her today.”
The company emphasized its commitment to safety and accountability, stating: “At Dangote Group, safety, accountability, and compassion remain at the core of our operations. We remain committed to strengthening our safety systems and supporting those affected in moments of tragedy.”
