Dassault Aviation, a prominent name in aerospace innovation, has expressed its intention to establish a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport located in Ilishan Remo, Ogun State.

This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing aviation services and infrastructure in Nigeria.

The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by two senior executives from Dassault Aviation, Florent Venturini, the Sales Director, and Isabelle Villet, the Sales Manager with the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The meeting focused on the strategic plans for the MRO facility, which aims to bolster the airport’s operational capabilities and serve the broader West African market.

Governor Abiodun emphasized the significance of the plan to establish the MRO, describing it as a landmark development that underscores the increasing attractiveness of the Gateway Airport and the surrounding Aerotropolis.

He noted that the establishment of the MRO facility would not only enhance aviation operations but also solidify Ogun State’s standing as a premier destination for global investment.

The governor further highlighted the positive business climate fostered by his administration, which is committed to creating an enabling environment for innovative investors.

He pointed out that Ogun State has become a sought-after destination for businesses in Nigeriaandglobally, as a result of the business-friendly policies and strategic support of his administration for the state’s economic growth.

In addition to the immediate benefits of the MRO facility, the governor expressed optimism about the long-term economic impact on the region.

According to him, the move is poised to create job opportunities, stimulate local businesses, and enhance the overall infrastructure of Ogun State, making it a pivotal hub for aviation and related industries in West Africa.
