The National body of the Egba Comprehensive High School, Old Students’ Association (ECHSOSA) has lauded the Ogun State Government (OGSG) on the appointment of Dr. Babatunde Jolaoso, as the 10th substantive Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta.
Jolaoso, is a distinguished alumnus of ECHSOSA.
In a statement released by the Association’s National Publicity Secretary, Waheed Ogunjobi, stated that National President, Chief Femi Popoola in Abeokuta, described the appointment as a welcome development, saying it is “timely and laudable.”
Adding that, Jolaoso’s track records, as a thoroughbred and professional Architect of repute and an academics, he has no doubt that his appointment “will usher in positive impact and a turn- around of the fortunes of the Polytechnic in a short-time.”
According to him, Jolaoso as an Alumnus of Egba Comprehensive High School and his contributions have been that of impact, credible support and selfless service, a feat he has been replicating in all facets of life he is known to have been entrusted with, saying his appointment is not only a plus for the school and the Association, but a testament to the quality of alumnus ECHSOSA is blessed with.
Popoola, stated further that Jolaoso, as an active and supportive member of the “Arise 81 set,” one of the most vibrant old students’ set of the school is an asset to the school, recalling how he singlehandedly donated befitting Library Furniture to the School Library, an effort which as he said “revived and entrenched the long-lost reading culture of the students and hence bring out a better version of their studentship”
He said, “I have no iota of doubt that Dr. Jolaoso will justify the confidence reposed in him by the Ogun State government, giving his track records as an astute administrator and academics and a supporter of good cause, whose midas touch is made manifest in all areas of life he had been privileged to relate with or entrusted with.”
“On behalf of the National body of ECHSOSA, I thank the Ogun State Government, particularly the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for this laudable appointment and assured that his contributions will not only be to the betterment of the fortunes of the Polytechnic, but a notable part of the Building Our Future Together Agenda of the present administration”
In his congratulatory message to the new Rector, Popoola said he is confident that he would justify the trust reposed in him as he brings his wealth of experienced gannerd over the years to bear on the running of the affairs of the institution.
