Hon. Olumide Jones

A former Senatorial Aspirant, Hon. Olumide Jones  has pleaded with Ogun state Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun to ensure that whatever palliative programs that will be carried out by the Government should be reached out to  the grassroots that really needs it.

Hon Olumide Jones made this statement in Abeokuta, Ogun state Capital while answering questions from the newsmen.

Hon OJ has fondly called by his teeming supporters made this appeal and said  that palliative program can only be  meaningful to the grassroots..

He said that as a politician one of the greatest challenge we usually have is that some of our Empowerment programs designed for the grassroots are sometimes end up in the wrong hands, and same goes with most most government programs too.

“I want to commend the cash distribution program of the state government and the process it is  been used especially as it will be distributed to the students of Ogun state indigine directly at Educational level.

“It’s a welcome development and I believe that it will meet its desire result, however i also want to advise the Government to make sure that other palliative programs that is being  initiated especially goods and foodstuffs should be well monitored so that it wont end up in the hands of the saboteurs.

He further said also that Nigeria is going through a turbulent time and average citizen needs the intervention of the government and well to do in the society to survive,it will be a disaster if the palliative program are being hijacked by the saboteurs he said

Jones  also want to advocate for non state actor to be included in the planning of the programmes to ensure its success.
