

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and other eminent personalities in Ogun have bid farewell to a foremost industrialist Egba man, Chief Olatunde Abudu who died at 96 years old.
Chief Abudu who in his life contributed the growth and development of Egbaland amd Ogun State, especially in nurturing a private sector to a limelight, died on 9th of June and was berried.
Giving his remark at the 8days Fidau prayer of Chief Abudu which was held on Monday in Abeokuta the state capital, Gov. Abiodun described him as man of many impact, who contributed immensely to transformative initiative in Abeokuta.
Abiodun who was represented by the Deputy Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele noted that late Abudu has exemplified discipline, excellence, and public sprititedness, adding that is unretired figure in the Nigeria industry and a committed educationist whose vision for human capital development transformed lives and strenghten institutions.


Abiodun ppinted out that in every phase of his life Chief Abudu stood out, as one of the early pioneer in private sector development and advocate for education as a tool of empowerment and a firm believer in communal progress.
He said “We are gathered here today In solem reflection and collective prayer to honour the life of and legacy of the distinguished son of Ogun state, Chief Olatunde Abudu, the Mayegun of Egbaland, Seriki of Oke Ona Egba, and the patron of Abeokuta club. Who returned to his Mecca on Monday in the 9th of June 2025, at the age of 96. We thank Almighty Allah for granting Baba a long and impactful life, the one who have exemplified discipline, excellence, and public sprititedness”.
“Chief Abudu wasn’t only referred Egba Chief he was a tiring figure in the Nigeria industry and a committed educationist whose vision for human capital development transformed lives and strenghten institutions, in every phase of his life Chief Abudu stood out, he was an early pioneer in private sector development amd advocate for education as a tool of empowerment and a firm believer in communal progress”
” His legacy is visible in the school he established the businesses he nutured and countless lives he mentored and uplifted. It has been rightful said that there hardly any transformative initiative in Abeokuta that he doesn’t wear his imprint, he lived a life of success, quiet, yet firmed in his conviction, traditional yet forward thinking, personal yet profounding public, in a era when service to community is always devalued, Baba remain a steadfast example of it mean to live a life anchor the values rooted in faith development. Though his passage marked end of an era, his legacy endures. He left the conner of the world better than he met it”. Abiodun submitted.
Also in his remark, the former Gov of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba described Chief Abudu as a man of many impact.
He stated he is a grat industrialist who had lived to the development of Egbaland by brining many industries to the city.
“He is a man of so many impact, thorough, humble, and a great industrialist he lived to the development of Egbaland, he brought so many industries to this city, and forever we shall be grateful to him”.
Also speaking the former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun prayed that Allah grant him Aljanat Fridous.
He noted that late Chief Abudu was a foremost industrialist, philanthropist who contributed to all positive things in Ogun with a tangible impact of him.
“May Allah grant him Aljanah Firdaus, because he did a lot not just for us in Egbaland alone , in Ogun State and indeed Nigeria, foremost industrialist , philanthropist, there’s nothing about us in Ogun State , all positive things. You’ll see his impact”
In his own submission, the Ogun central Senator, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu stated that late Abudu left three things behind him because he lived a well deserving life.
He mentioned that the three things are his children who are worthy ambassadors of his value, we have also seen that he was a purveyor of knowledge as key development for other as long as those people who have benefited from his knowledge.

“Thirdly, he has also giving behind charity that continue to benefit. He has atleast two or three hospitals to his name . For those of us who are still living, let’s draw inspiration from the live for this great man”. He said.
“We have a global renowned in Egba land , in Ogun state , one of the greatest contributors to that renowned has just gone.
