Abeokuta, the Capital of Ogun State was agog as the Chairman, Federal House of Representatives’ Committee on Rural Development at the 8th Assembly, Hon (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu, was installed as the Maiyegun Ijeun Egba and Lisa-Aje of Egbaland.
Adebutu was installed as the Maiyegun of Ijeun at Ijeun Town Hall, Oke Ijeun, Abeokuta, where Ijeun Chiefs and other dignitaries were present.
His wife, Yeye Adenike Adebutu, was also conferred with the title of Yeye Mayegun of Ijeun Egba and Erelu Lisa Aje of Egbaland.
In his speech, the Balogun of Ijeun, Chief Akanbi Kushimo, said Honourable (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu is a son of the soil as the Egba blood runs in him. He praised him for his philanthropic gestures throughout the state.
After the completion of the traditional ceremony at Ijeun, Adebutu’s convoy moved to Ake’s Palace for the conferment of Lisa Aje Egba title on him by the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, HRM Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
Dignitaries from different walks of life came from far and near to honour the man whom is regarded as a man foremost philanthropist.
Among those who graced the occasion included the Ooni of Ife and A role Oodua, HIM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Oba (Dr) Sikiru Adetona ably represented by the Dagburewe of Idowa, HRM Oba Yinusa Adekoya, Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, HRM Oba Babatunde Ajayi, ably represented by Elepe of Epe, HRM Oba Osiberu.
Others were Alaperu of Iperu, HRM Oba Idowu Basibo, Agura of Gbagura, HRM Oba Saburee Bakre, Aminisan of Oko, Sagamu, HRM Oba Mufutau Sanni, Hon Sikirulai Ogundele, Hon Seye Sonuga among others.
After the installation, there was royal blessings for the new Lisa-Aje of Egbaland and Erelu Lisa Aje, Honourable (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu and Yeye Adenike Adebutu respectively.
