Founder of Global Impact Church, Pastor Akinyemi Davids has been inaugurated as the Chairman of the Lagos chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN.

His inauguration took place on Saturday, in Lagos.

Delivering a short message at the event, Rev Sam Aboyeji, noted that the present team of the Lagos PFN may not be the best but they are the next while also assuring that they will make a success of their tenure.

He also underscored the importance of purpose, noting that when purpose is known every other thing will fall in place.

The President of PFN, Bishop Wole Oke, in a speech at the event noted that the ceremony attracted big names in the fellowship. He said the new chairman may not be the best by human standard but because ‘he is the chosen, he is the best.’

Oke noted that the new era which the PFN Lagos has been praying for is here. He urged the body to close the old chapter and move forward.

While in his inaugural speech, Pastor Davids noted there is much to be done. He expressed confidence that God will make the new dawn in Lagos PFN a reality.

He said topmost of his agenda is the unity of the church while noting that a divided house cannot make impact.

‘We are going to work on reconciliation of aggrieved parties we are going to work on the unity of the church as the Lord gives the grace. We are working on those who have been hurt by the process’

Pastor Davids said he spent extensive time praying for the church in Lagos ever before he was asked to come and lead the body..

‘I spent extensive time praying for Lagos Church. I never knew this was going to come up. The body of Christ will wax stronger and stronger while the house of Saul will grow weaker and weaker.’ he assured.

The new chairman also said he would work to pursue renewal of the fellowship.

‘We believe PFN needs to focus on the reality of the name Pentecostal. It is not Pentecostal Political Party, it is Pentecostal fellowship so we need to come together in love to make impact in our society and live up to our billing’.

He said further that the strength of PFN is derived from the strength of individual member of the fellowship. The number we have today came from our focus on spiritual impact so we don’t become a shell having a name without relevance .

‘The glory you bring to the fellowship is the glory you have from where you are coming from. If we neglect our primary assignment we might not have what to offer to the body.’ he said .

However, the event attracted all the big names in the PFN including the National President of the body, Bishop Wale Oke, General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Rev Sam Aboyeji, Rev Mercy Ezekiel of the Christian Pentecostal Ministry among others.

The National Chairman of the Inauguration Committee, Archbishop Joseph Ojo coordinated the rites of inauguration of Pastor David in the presence a myriad of Pentecostal faithful.
