The Media Aide to the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, Alhaji Akeem Temitope Akilo, has been appointed a member of the Media Committee of the 2027 Ogun State APC Campaign Council.
The appointment, coming as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections, was contained in a statement titled “Ogun APC Unveils Campaign Council, Mobilises for 2027 Victory,” signed by the Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and released to the media.
Akilo’s inclusion in the campaign council is widely seen as a recognition of his experience in political mobilisation, grassroots engagement, and strategic media communication, particularly within the Ogun political space.
A seasoned political organiser and communications strategist, Akilo previously served on the Media and Publicity Committee of the 2023 Ogun State APC Campaign Council, where he was involved in the party’s electioneering, and public communication efforts.
His latest appointment also draws from his longstanding involvement in grassroots politics. He was a former student union activist at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, and contested the 2024 APC chairmanship primary election in Ijebu North East Local Government Area.
Akilo currently serves as Media Aide to Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, a position that has further placed him at the intersection of public communication, political engagement, and grassroots mobilisation.
His return to the APC campaign structure is particularly significant as the party begins to consolidate its political machinery ahead of the 2027 elections, with the campaign council expected to drive coordinated messaging, voter engagement and grassroots mobilisation across the 20 local government areas of the state.
