Nigerian man flees community over alleged case of same sex relationship

A Nigerian man Hope Avwerosuo Ekrakene has fled his community in Delta State part of the country after the government and the community decided to prosecute him for being a gay.

Ekrakene who was also summoned and handcuffed before the chief priest of the shrine including ‘River Ethiope’ God of the sea declined to swear an oath before the deity due to his religious beliefs.

The family and the government thereafter, concluded that he is a gay and should be dealt with according to the traditional rites and Nigeria’s same-sex prohibition laws.

Ekrakene  troubles started when he returned from the United Kingdom for a condolence visit over his late uncle late Mr Tive, there he was summoned by the community over an alligation of same sex and was asked to swear before the deity for his innocence.
