Presenting the chairs, Hon. Isiaka reaffirmed his commitment to the media, saying, “I believe the media is a vital partner in deepening democracy, good governance, and accountability.” He emphasized the importance of journalists in national development, adding, “Equipping them with a conducive working environment is an investment in the growth of society.”
Chairman of the Ogun NUJ, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, lauded the gesture, calling it “timely, impactful, and a clear demonstration of GNI’s unwavering support for the Union.” He noted that the new chairs would “enhance the comfort and productivity of members while further uplifting the image of the Council.”
The Council described the donation as “not just an act of kindness but a testament to GNI’s visionary leadership.” Members also highlighted Isiaka’s longstanding relationship with the press and his consistent belief in the power of the media to drive positive change.

On behalf of its members, Ogun NUJ pledged to make judicious use of the chairs and reiterated its commitment to professional ethics. “We will continue to uphold the ethics of the profession,” the Council stated, while urging other well-meaning individuals and institutions to emulate Isiaka’s example. “Supporting the press strengthens its capacity to serve society better,” the Union added.
