Ogun PDP Celebrates Nigeria @ 60

The Ogun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) joins numerous well-wishers in felicitating with the good people of Ogun state on the auspicious ceremony of the 60th Independence Ceremony of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It is no doubts a remarkable landmark in the anals of our history of continued existence of our dear country despite all strains and stresses which have characterized the country’s long walk to this material point in time.

While we take unfettered delight in celebrating with the mass of the people, we are still not unmindful of the agony, the disappointment and the misery which Nigerians have witnessed since the birth of the ruling APC government. On occasion as this, once again the PDP urges the ruling government at the centre and at state levels, especially the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ogun state to come alive by raising responsibly to all its electoral promises made to the people during electioneering period.

As a pro people party, our great party shall continue to remind the ruling government that democratic government remains a trust that is held on behalf of the people and as such, government must strive, at all times to act responsibly to the ultimate good of the people.

As a party, we are not unaware of the serial failures of the ruling APC government in all critical sectors of the economy, talk of general insecurity of innocent lives and valuable properties, poor handling of workers statutory benefits and entitlements, poor public infrastructures, series of anti people policies, uninspiring attitudes to matters of responsive governance etc.

However, we wish to make it abundantly clear to all Ogun residents not to lose hope but remain steadfast, resolute, hopeful and prayerful that Ogun State, despite the current hardship forced on the people by the current insensitive government of Prince Dapo Abiodun, shall bounce back to an era of endless economic prosperity and indeed Nigeria shall be great again.

As Nigeria marks 60th today, we are particularly passionate in our conviction that Ogun state plays and holds significant part in the socioeconomic and political development of our dear country, Nigeria. By God’s grace, the efforts, struggles and the labour of our heros past, shall never be in vain and Ogun State shall never retrogress.

Happy 60th Independence Anniversary to Nigeria.
