ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Lukman Ejalonibu, has issued a fiery mandate to young party members, charging them to “arise and take the PDP back to governance” as the state’s primary opposition prepares for future electoral cycles.
Speaking yesterday in Abeokuta during a strategic meeting with youth leaders from the six local government areas of Ogun Central, Ejalonibu declared that the party is “poised for victory” and urged a total shift away from political complacency. The session included representatives from Abeokuta North, Abeokuta South, Ewekoro, Ifo, Obafemi-Owode, and Odeda LGAs.
“We are the opposition today, but we are the government-in-waiting,” Ejalonibu told the gathering. “Arise, go to your wards, register new members, and identify competent young men and women who can fly our flag. This is a time to give up on excuses and stand firm in the collective goal of the people, which only the PDP can deliver.”
Ejalonibu further instructed the local leaders to move beyond rhetoric and establish a “formidable force” starting from individual polling units. He directed the immediate formation of youth policy teams in each LGA and the commencement of issue-based town halls to strengthen the party’s connection with the grassroots.
“We will take the bull by the horn,” he stated. “Ogun Central and Ogun State at large deserve quality representation, and the PDP youth wing will deliver it.”
The meeting concluded with a unanimous pledge from the local government leaders to begin an intensive ward-to-ward mobilization drive, signaling an escalation in the party’s youth-led activities across the central district.
