The Ogun State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN) has joined Nigerians across the world to felicitate with Muslim faithful in the country with the distribution of Rice to its members particularly Muslims in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Distributing the item at the SWAN Secretariat in Abeokuta, Chairman of the Association, Comrade Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji said the distribution of the Rice was part of the welfare programmes for members of the association.
Ogunsiji who used the occasion to felicitate the Muslims faithful on the EID-EL-KABIR festival reminded members of the association on the need to remain focused and determined towards the progress of the association.
“This is just one of the few programmes designed to put smiles on the faces of the members of the association on the occasion of Eid El Kabir celebration couple with the current economy reality in the country, such gesture will be extended to other members as efforts was being made to achieve one of our campaign promises”
He reaffirmed the commitment of the present executives of the association to protect and improve the welfare of the members especially on the forthcoming National Sports Festival.
Ogunsiji said arrangements were in the pipeline to train and retrain members of the association ahead of the festival tagged “Gateway Games 2024”.
He called on the state government and philanthropists in the state to always extend its social welfare package to the association as critical stakeholder to the socio-economic development of the state.
