Preparations are in top gear for the forthcoming wedding ceremony of Benjamin Morakinyo Oduntan, son of veteran journalist and author, Chief Adesina Andrew Oduntan, with a distinguished array of political, traditional and professional personalities expected to grace the occasion.
The wedding is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Hallmark Event Hall, Celica, along Ajia Road, Ibadan, where family members, friends, colleagues and well-wishers are expected to gather to celebrate the union of Benjamin Morakinyo Oduntan and his bride, Boluwatife Ajuwon.
A major highlight of the occasion will be the presence of the respected elder statesman and former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba, CFR, who will serve as the Chairman of the Occasion.
Chief Osoba served as Governor of Ogun State from 1991 to 1992 and again from 1999 to 2003. His acceptance to chair the occasion is expected to add considerable prestige to the wedding, given his long-standing stature in Nigerian public life and his enduring relationship with the Oduntan family.

The ceremony will also have as its Royal Father of the Day, Oba Dr. Adedapo Adewale Tejuoso, CON, Karunwi III, Oranmiyan, Osile Oke-Ona Egba, whose presence is expected to further underscore the traditional and cultural significance of the celebration.
Other distinguished guests expected at the occasion include the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, serving and former political office holders, traditional rulers, senior journalists, business leaders, professionals, community leaders and other eminent personalities from Ogun, Oyo and beyond.
The gathering is expected to bring together a cross-section of personalities who have forged relationships with the Oduntan family over the years, particularly through Chief Adesina Andrew Oduntan’s extensive career in journalism and public affairs.
Chief Oduntan, a veteran journalist and author, has been involved in the Nigerian media industry for several decades and is known for his extensive professional and social networks across Ogun State and beyond.
The wedding of Benjamin and Boluwatife is therefore expected to be more than a family celebration, with the attendance of eminent political and traditional figures providing an opportunity for friends, associates and well-wishers to celebrate alongside the couple and their families.
With Chief Osoba as Chairman of the Occasion and Oba Dr. Tejuoso as Royal Father of the Day, the August 29 celebration promises to be a colourful and memorable gathering of family, tradition, leadership and goodwill.
