As Nigeria commemorates its 66th Independence Anniversary, Promasidor Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to the nation’s economic development through investments that strengthen local production, create jobs, support communities and improve access to affordable, quality nutrition.
With this year’s theme, “From Reforms to Stability: Consolidating Nigeria’s Renewed Hope for Shared Prosperity,” the company said its investments across the food and dairy value chain reflect its commitment to creating sustainable economic and social value in Nigeria.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Promasidor Nigeria, François Gillet, congratulated Nigerians and reiterated the company’s commitment to supporting national development through sustainable investments and inclusive business practices.
He said, “As Nigeria celebrates 66 years of independence, we are reminded that nation-building is a shared responsibility. At Promasidor, we remain committed to investing in Nigeria, creating opportunities, strengthening local value chains and making quality nutrition more accessible to consumers.”

A key demonstration of this commitment is Promasidor’s investment in the Ikun Dairy Farm, which is supporting the development of Nigeria’s local dairy value chain through increased domestic milk production and sustainable dairy production.
The farm hosts more than 650 high-yielding cattle, provides direct employment to over 200 people and supports more than 1,000 indirect jobs in surrounding communities. Beyond job creation, the investment is helping to stimulate economic activity while strengthening local capacity within the dairy value chain.
Promasidor’s contribution to nutrition in Nigeria dates back to March 1993, when it introduced Cowbell Milk in sachet format, helping to make milk more affordable and accessible to a wider segment of the population. The company has continued to build on this legacy through investments in product innovation, quality and accessibility.
Its portfolio today includes Cowbell, Loya, Miksi, Toptea, Onga, Twisco and Kremela, offering a range of food and beverage products that cater to diverse consumer needs.
Gillet said Promasidor’s commitment extends beyond manufacturing, with the company focused on creating shared value across its ecosystem.
“Our investments are designed to create value across the entire chain – from local production and employment to the consumer. By strengthening the dairy value chain, creating jobs and providing affordable nutritional products, we are contributing to a stronger and more resilient Nigerian economy,” he added.
Promasidor’s contributions have also earned industry recognition, with the company recently named “Outstanding Dairy Company of the Year,” while its flagship brand, Cowbell, won “Dairy Brand of the Year.” The company also received a Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) Awards for Marketing Excellence for its community-focused initiatives.
As Nigeria marks another milestone in its journey, Promasidor remains committed to supporting the country’s economic and social development through investments that promote local production, employment, community prosperity and improved access to quality nutrition.
