SAGAMU – In a decisive move ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle, the democratically elected councillors of Remoland have officially declared their “unwavering and unalloyed loyalty” to the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, endorsing a strategic slate of candidates for federal and state offices.
The declaration was the climax of the Remo Legislative Forum Summit held on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The summit brought together lawmakers from Sagamu, Ikenne, and Remo North Local Government Areas to evaluate the “socio-political stability of Remoland under the progressive banner of the APC.”

The forum’s most significant resolution was the formal backing of the current state governor for a seat in the National Assembly. In a communique released following the session, the Council stated they “strongly align with the wider Remo APC leadership to endorse State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, as the sole candidate for the Ogun East Senatorial District seat.”
Citing the “transformative impact” of the administration’s ISEYA agenda, the legislators noted:

“Having witnessed the construction of over 1,500km of roads to the completion of the Gateway International Airport… it is on this foundation of ‘Building Our Future Together’ that we formally endorse Prince Dapo Abiodun for continued leadership.”

The forum also moved to solidify the bid of Hon. Funmi Efuwape (popularly known as FAECO) for the Remo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives. The endorsement, according to the communique, is a “direct reflection of our commitment to equity, fairness, political stability, harmonious representation, and democratic progress within Remoland.”
The council praised Efuwape’s “unmatched administrative competence,” referencing her previous roles as Executive Chairman of Sagamu LG and her tenures as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Special Duties.
Furthermore, the body extended its endorsement to four state assembly candidates:

  • Hon. Adebiyi Adeleye (Remo North)
  • Hon. Seyi Odumiywa (Ikenne)
  • Hon. Damilare Bello (Sagamu 1)
  • Hon. Olapeju Ayodele (Sagamu 2)

The adoption of these candidates followed a motion moved by Hon. Ayodeji A. Dada (Remo North) and seconded by Hon. Muyideen Alayo (Sagamu). With the endorsements finalized, the Council issued a directive for immediate “Constituency Penetration.”
“All local lawmakers must immediately return to their respective wards to activate unit-by-unit campaign structures… The Council calls on all loyal party faithful to resist external political distractions and maintain absolute unity to deliver a clean sweep at the polls.”
