Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, and members of Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) have approved additional training and a code of conduct for the state’s law enforcement agents, to enhance performance.

The decision was reached at the 13th ANSEC meeting held at the new government house called the Light House, Awka, on Monday, June 30, 2025, where other crucial state matters of developmental effect were also discussed.

The State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, stated that this stems from Governor Soludo’s transformation of the vital sectors of the state, thereby making it the dream place for the people with the infrastructural advancement presently being experienced by the people. This is with the vision of the governor in turning the state into the Dubai-Silicon Valley of the country where economic and business activities thrive.

He said the code of conduct would help curb unethical practices, and that the training would enhance their effectiveness and teach them how they should operate.

The Commissioner stated that recognising the need for enhanced security and service delivery, the Council ANSEC) gave the state’s enforcement agencies—including Agunechemba, Ocha Brigade, and the Anti-Touts Squad high marks for their performance.

“However, to strengthen their capabilities and guarantee more accountability and responsive enforcement across all sectors, further training for the operatives had begun, and a Code of Conduct would be issued after the training,” Mefor asserted.

Also, ANSEC at is 11th meeting, unveiled plans to train and retrain drivers in the state to ensure safety on the state’s roads, and thereafter, would place drivers who commit major traffic violations on a blacklist, a move aimed at instilling discipline in motorists and avoiding vehicular traffic hazards.
