SWAN Ogun Mourns Former Chairman, Alhaji Hakeem Akintunde 2

The Ogun State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has received with deep shock and profound sadness over the news of the passing of its former Chairman, Alhaji Hakeem Akintunde.

Alhaji Akintunde was a committed professional, an exemplary leader, and a passionate advocate for sports development in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.

During his tenure as Chairman of Ogun SWAN, Alhaji Akintunde demonstrated uncommon dedication to the growth of sports journalism, fostering unity among members and strengthening the association’s relationship with key stakeholders in the sports sector.

His contributions to the advancement of sports reporting and administration in the state remain indelible. He was widely respected for his integrity, humility, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alhaji Akintunde was a mentor and father figure to many young sports journalists, offering guidance and support that shaped numerous careers.

The news of his demise is a monumental loss not only to SWAN Ogun but also to the entire sporting community in the state and across Nigeria. His legacy of service, discipline, and dedication will continue to inspire generations of sports writers.

On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire members of SWAN Ogun State, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues, and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

We pray that Almighty Allah grants him Aljanah Firdaus and gives his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Alhaji Hakeem Akintunde will be sorely missed, but his impact and memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Signed:
