The members of the renowned gospel choir, The Jehoshaphats, threw a surprise party for their beloved Choirmaster and Chief Organist, Mr. Kayode Sopein, on Friday, May 19th, 2023. The gathering was held in honour of his 65th birthday.
The event was filled with jubilation as the choir surprised Mr. Sopein with a wonderful performance led by a talented Saxophonist, Bishop Sax. Everyone was overwhelmed with joy as they lifted praises and worship music in honour of the birthday celebrant.
Reverend Apostle Adeolu Akisola then led everyone in prayer, thanking God for Mr. Sopein. Afterwards, celebratory cake was cut and everyone ate, drank, and made merry.
The occasion was also a moment to celebrate the incredible leadership of Mr. Kayode Sopein, popularly known as “Sir K.” Testimonies were shared, showcasing the influence and impact he has had on the choir and the larger gospel music community.
Friends, family, and well-wishers of the choir were also present to share in this momentous event, adding to the festive mood. The celebration proved to be a memorable one, filled with love and affection for one of the most respected names in gospel music in the region.
