Lawyer and Human rights activist, Dele Farotimi, who has just been released from detention from the correctional centre where he was detained, as made known what God revealed to him concerning the project of fighting evil.
Farotimi, has just been released after meeting with the fulfillment of his bail conditions in an Ekiti State Magistrate Court, where he was held at the correctional center in the state.
“It is not ever an easy journey when you are fighting evil, but some years back, before I started this work, God told me that the truth is enough.
“It is the only weapon with which you can slay the monster called Nigeria, which is the truth.
“In my war against the evil empire that we all live in, I have never lied against anyone. If I don’t know, I will say I don’t know,” he told journalists upon his release.
According to him, he had never had cause to lie against anyone in his life, adding that whatever he had said about someone or an institution was true.
Recall that the renowned Nigerian legal luminary Afe Babalola had accused Farotimi of defamation, allegedly contained in a book he wrote, leading to the arrest and detention of the latter by the police.
While defamation charges were brought against him at an Ekiti State Magistrate Court by Babalola’s team, as well as by Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police and additional twelve charges were brought against the human rights lawyer at an Ekiti Federal High Court on December 6.
