Popular Ghanaian-Nigerian actress, Yvonne Okoro, has explained her reasons behind why she prefers Nigerian men to the Ghanaian men.

According to the talented screen diva,
who has carved a niche for herself in African cinema, opened up about her preferences during a lively conversation on Ghanaian TV show Showbiz 360, hosted by her colleague Majid Michel.

The conversation, which aired recently, saw Okoro, 40, share her thoughts on what makes Nigerian men stand out.

According to her, it’s not just about their deep pockets but their ability to shower love and affection.

“Nigerian men or Ghanaian men? Nigerian men are better. I didn’t say Nigerian men because of money. That’s not the only thing. Money is there but love, affection is very important. Because if they give me money and there’s no love and they’re very disrespectful, I wouldn’t want that,” she said with a smile.

Born in Tamale, Ghana, to a Nigerian father and a Ghanaian mother, Okoro is no stranger to the cultural differences between the two countries.

Her upbringing and career have given her a unique perspective on relationships. “I want the whole package. That’s my kind of man. I want everything,” she added passionately.

Okoro’s acting career spans both Nollywood and Ghollywood, where she has earned accolades for her stellar performances in blockbuster movies. Her insight into relationships sparked conversations online, with many agreeing that Nigerian men have a certain flair for romance and generosity.

In recent years, Okoro has been recognised for her philanthropic work and her advocacy for gender equality in the film industry. Fans see her as more than just an actress – she’s a voice for African women navigating both career and personal life.

While the debate between Nigerian and Ghanaian men might never end, Yvonne Okoro’s preference has added more spice to the discussion. For her, a perfect man must combine love, respect, and a touch of generosity – a “complete package” that she believes Nigerian men often deliver.
