President Muhammadu Buhari says Nigeria and Zambia will deepen ties between the two countries. Kano State government has directed all civil servants to resume work with immediate effect. The directive was contained in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information Muhammad Garba who said Governor Abdullahi Ganduje gave the directive during the weekly State Executive Council Meeting. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has kick started the process of decongesting polling units in Rivers State by increasing the number. This was made known by the resident electoral commissioner in the state Obo Effanga during to journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital. Effanga said the exercise, part of a nationwide effort, will cover more than three million registered voters in the state which is expected to increase after the forthcoming voter registration exercise. The Katsina State Government has enrolled 320,000 persons in the formal sector programme of its contributory healthcare scheme. 53,241 vulnerable persons are also expected to be covered, under the Scheme. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday queried the board of First Bank Nigeria Limited over the removal of the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the bank, Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, saying the action was without regulatory approval. The Bauchi State Government, has revoked the rehabilitation and expansion project of Kirfi General Hospital, awarded by the previous government. This followed an inspection visit, paid by Governor Bala Mohammed to the project site, in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, over what the governor described as the non-chalant attitude by the contractor.
