Former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has spoken out following his removal from office, saying that is not the end of the world. Olusola Bandele Oyewole, on Friday was giving a fitting honour as a 1000-seater auditorium was named after him in the Alabata Campus of the Institution. The Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) on Friday has lamented that only 6,000 consultants are left in the country. President of the association, Prof. Muhammad Mohammad, revealed this during the association’s National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting in Ilorin, Kwara State. The new Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has delayed the start of his traditional rites, he returned to Canada, postponing the process ahead of his scheduled coronation on April 4. About 2,000 personnel has been mobilised by the Amotekun Corps to flush out bandits and other criminals operating in forests in the South-West region. Ogun, Osun states are among the list with targeted 1,000 recruits each, while Oyo recruited 480 men last October as part of efforts to curtail the influx of bandits.
