First, I give all glory to the Almighty God for making these achievements a reality. It has been nearly four remarkable years since the birth of Toyin Amuzu Football Club (TAFC), a dream made possible by the vision of one man, Chief Toyin Amuzu (TA), the Asiwaju Leragun of Egbaland, a passionate sports enthusiast, youth developer and philanthropist.

Since our formation, TAFC has grown beyond just being a football team. It has become a symbol of hope, discipline and transformation for many young people in Abeokuta and beyond. We have played matches that tested our strength and resilience. We have lost a few, but we have won many and gained much more, especially in the development of character, purpose and unity among our youths.

Our Trail of Triumphs

Over the years, TAFC has consistently proven its mettle on the pitch, standing tall among the best in Ogun State:

  • Winners of the Toyin Amuzu Football Championship –2022
  • Winners of the Lisabi Youth Football Champions League – 2022
  • Champions of the Abeokuta South Coaches League FA Cup – 2023
  • Defended our title and emerged Champions again in the Abeokuta South Coaches League FA Cup – 2024
  • Winners of the Lisabi Youth Football Champions League – 2025

And even when we didn’t lift the trophy, we gave our all and still came out strong:

  • 3rd Place in Egba Youth Football Championship – 2023
  • 3rd Place in Talented Football Competition – 2024
  • 3rd Place in Super Talent Football Tournament – 2025

These accomplishments are not just about medals or glory, they represent the dreams and dedication of our young players, many of whom might have been exposed to negative vices if not for the opportunity this club offers.

Why Youth Engagement Matters

Toyin Amuzu FC is a glowing example of what positive youth engagement through sports can achieve. Our players come from diverse backgrounds, many from underserved communities, yet they have found purpose, mentorship and brotherhood in football. The pitch has become a place where talents are discovered and more importantly, where young boys become responsible men.

Football teaches discipline, teamwork, sacrifice, and goal-setting life values that extend far beyond the game. Today, we are proud to say that some of our players have gone on to join professional teams, pursue academic opportunities and contribute meaningfully to society.

The true Heroes

Yes, to our gallant players, who are the true heroes of Toyin Amuzu Football Club. I salute your unwavering dedication and fighting spirit. Without you, none of these achievements would have been possible. You give your all on the pitch, training day after day, never tired, never discouraged, come rain, come sunshine. You carry the dreams of the team with pride, discipline and passion. Whether it is a friendly match or a final, you play with heart, with unity and with an unshakable belief in one another. You are more than players, you are brothers, warriors and champions in every sense of the word. Your hard work continues to write the success story of TAFC, and for that, we are forever proud.

The Heartbeat Behind the Team

These successes would not have been possible without a team behind the team. I say a big thank you to Coach Victor Dawodu, a man of unwavering commitment, who has worked tirelessly to mold and mentor our players.

I must also deeply appreciate Adewale Adebayo (Skendo) and Mr. Isa Ayinla (aka Smart), the backbone of this team. These two men have poured their time, energy and personal resources into the growth of TAFC. Come rain or sunshine, they are there, pushing, guiding, sacrificing.

To our loyal supporters and brothers-in-progress, Korede Oladepo (Korede Coded), Alli Lateef Ekundayo, Tolu Bankole, Abideen Olawale Taiwo, Jubril Sulaiman, Kamoor Mejigbedu, Seun Odunlami, Sodiq Bakeene, Deji Falowo, and Da Silva the Great — thank you! Your words of encouragement, presence at our games, and constant motivation mean more than you know.

To the Man Who Made It All Possible

We cannot talk about Toyin Amuzu FC without acknowledging our founder and chairman, Chief Toyin Amuzu, TA, the Oga Patapata, our pillar and source of strength.

He didn’t just give us a name; he gave us purpose, structure and unwavering support, financially, morally and emotionally. Even without occupying any political position, Chief Amuzu has been investing in people, especially the youth. His contributions go far beyond football; they are part of a broader legacy of community building and leadership.

A Call for Greater Impact

We believe that this is only the beginning. As we continue to groom future stars and responsible citizens through sport, we also look forward to seeing Chief Toyin Amuzu representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives. A man who has done so much without a government title will no doubt do even more when given the mandate of the people.

The story of TAFC is one of grit, glory and grace: a living testimony of what happens when leadership meets purpose and sports meets service. We are not just building a football club; we are building a future.

Long live TAFC!
Long live Chief Toyin Amuzu!
Long live the youths of Abeokuta South!
