Abeokuta, August 7, 2025 — A civil society organization, Gateway Lens led by Salami Sobande, has called on Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and his administration to provide full disclosure regarding an ongoing investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to reports, over 30 EFCC operatives visited the governor’s office at Oke Mosan earlier this week to interrogate government officials over alleged financial misconduct, including questionable revenue practices and suspected diversion of public funds.
Gateway Lens, a non-political watchdog group, expressed deep concern over what it described as “entrenched corruption” within the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in Ogun State. The group claims intelligence suggests that state resources are being redirected to influence the upcoming bye-election in the Remo Federal Constituency, scheduled for August 16.
“The Abiodun-led administration appears more focused on vote-buying schemes than on delivering essential services,” said Salami Sobande, Convener of Gateway Lens. “Ogun State is not a personal enterprise. The people deserve transparency and accountable leadership.”

The organization condemned the alleged misuse of public funds and urged the EFCC to pursue its investigation with professionalism and impartiality. It also called on citizens and stakeholders to support the anti-graft agency’s efforts.
“No official, regardless of rank, should be shielded from justice,” Sobande added. “We stand ready to collaborate with institutions that prioritize good governance over political greed.”
