Dr Jolaoso Assumes Office, Promises Inclusivity, Receives World Record for MAPOLY

The newly appointed Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Arc. Dr. Adekoyejo Jolaoso has pledged a developmental transformation with optimism for the Institution.
Dr Jolaoso, made this known on Friday, during his assumption of office as the polytechnic’s new Rector.
In a statement signed by the Institution’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, ‘Yemi Ajibola, revealed that the new Rector’s assumption into office was witnessed with the convergence of Islamic clerics, family members, friends and well-wishers who came to usher him into the office with special prayers, committing his tenure to the hands of Almighty Allah.
According to him, Arc. Dr. Jolaoso, who is the first Alumnus to become the Rector of the 45-year old Polytechnic has promised that his administration will be characterized by inclusiveness and open-door policy.
He noted that, Jolaoso’s emergence as Rector is a collective will and aspiration of everyone which God has graciously granted, adding that he is a representative of the entire MAPOLY community”.
While, also noting that the tasks of navigating the Polytechnic for unprecedented progress require joint efforts hence all hands must be on deck to chart a new developmental course for Polytechnic in order to place it, once again in an enviable pedestal in the comity of Polytechnics in Nigeria.

Among important dignatories who witnessed the prayers included; a worthy Alumnus and Ambassador of the Polytechnic, Dr. Akeem Adegoke Rauf, who is also the Rector, D.S Adegbenro (ICT) Polytechnic, Itori, Ogun state, and the Chairman, Committee of State Rectors (COHEADS), Ogun State Chapter represented the body.
Also present were MAPOLY staffers, Dr. Samuel Babajide and Dr. Mrs. Bolanle Olorode who bagged and presented Official World Record certificates from the International Academy for the Gifted (IAGIFTED), Nigeria to the new Rector.
Meanwhile, the duo had represented the Polytechnic and won official world records in the category of Largest Mathematics Lesson during a training involving 5043 participants.
The training was in collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Ogun State Tertiary Institutions and ABACUS.
Executive members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP), and members of MAPOLY Muslim Community also graced the prayer session with their presence.
Dr. Jolaoso, later proceeded to inspect facilities at the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre in preparation for the conduct of a “Third- Party Examination” for NNPC being hosted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) commencing on Saturday 7th December, 2024.
The Rector, thereafter went to the Polytechnic Mosque where the recitation of the complete Holy Quran took place, accompanied by friends and well-wishers.
In his sermon, the Imam of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Najimudeen Sodiya, highlighted objectivity, unity, love, sympathy and empathy as instruments of a purposeful life.
Also, the President of MAPOLY Abeokuta Muslims Alumni (MAPAMA), Alhaji Taofeek Oyeniyi, in same vein, called on stakeholders of the Polytechnic to rally support for the Rector as he stirs the institution’s ship observing that the success of new administration will be determined by the positive input of every one adding that all of us should be part of this history making journey till victory songs come.
Earlier, the Polytechnic’s Deputy Rector, Dr. Mrs. Yetunde Lanre-Iyanda; The Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Elewodalu and the Bursar, Mrs. Folasade Madariola, FCA, had, in turns expressed gratitude to God for the Rector’s appointment and promised unflinching supports for the new Rector.
