The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Rural Development and Representative of Remo Federal Constituency in the 8th National Assembly, Hon (Dr.) Oladipupo Adebutu has congratulated His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki on his victory at the just concluded governorship election in Edo State.
In a release by his Media Director, Afolabi Orekoya,  Adebutu described Obaseki’s victory as well deserved. In his words “Obaseki’s re-election was an attestation to the fact that Edo people appreciate his giant strides in running the affairs of the state in the last four years, making life more comfortable for the people and it also confirms that the people have become aversed to politics of Godfatherism in the state which will extend to other parts of the country.”
He further commended Governor Obaseki for his dogged stand against Godfatherism and imposition in the state. Hon. Adebutu expressed his satisfaction in the success of the election process by commending the Independent National Electoral Commission for organising a hitch-free and fair election despite the efforts of the ruling party to undermine the process. He admonished the Commission that this should be replicated in subsequent elections especially that of Ondo election that is around the corner.
The release also stated that Obaseki’s victory is confirmation that our people are awakened to their rights, entrenching true democracy and defend same with their votes. Adebutu also  congratulated the good people of Edo State for this landslide vicrory which he regarded as victory for all and an indication that true democracy is achievable.
