Eid-el-Adha: Oba Odutala Advocates for Higher Living Standards, Local Government Autonomy

Oba Adewunmi Odutala, the Onibudo of Ayetoro-Budo Ota in Ado Odo Ota local government has expressed concern over the state Governors attempts to block the local government’s autonomy.

Oba Odutala while speaking with journalists on the occasion of Eid El Kabir said the local government are the closest to the people, adding that the approval will further enhance development.

“The federal government is trying to give the local government autonomy, but the state Governors are blocking it, what are they are hiding. Why are the state governors trying to put the local government in their pockets? The closest government to the people. They are the ones that can bring development to the people.”

The traditional ruler said there was the need for the state Governors come up with workable economic policies that will compliment the effort of President in making Nigeria a better place for Nigerians to live.

“All the Governors during the campaign told us different economic reforms making life easy. What are the state Governors doing to compliment the effort and the renewed hope agenda of Mr President. The problem of Nigerians today is beyond sharing Rice, noodles, they should come up with economic policies for their states.

“If the state Governors want the president to succeed, they should assist their states.

“We salute those state Governors making life easy for their citizens in a transparent way” he said

Oba Odutala, who congratulated the Muslim ummah on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration encouraged the Muslims faithful to imbibe the lessons of the season which included obedience, humility and fear of God in all their dealings towards building a virile and united socie

Acknowledging the current economic hardship being faced by Nigerians, the traditional ruler expressed the hope in the ability of the current administration to improve the economy through his various interventions.

He thanked Governor Dapo Abiodun for his laudable programmes and advised him to do more for the people in the state to alleviate their suffering.
