I extend my warmest congratulations to Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA Yayi on the landmark occasion of two years of outstanding service in the 10th National Assembly, representing the industrious and vibrant people of Ogun West Senatorial District.

Since assuming office on June 13, 2023, Senator Yayi has exemplified what it means to be a true servant-leader—dedicated, result-oriented, accessible, and tireless in the pursuit of progress for his constituents. His trajectory in the National Assembly has been one of unmatched purpose and deep commitment to the

development of Ogun West, Ogun State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

A Proven Legislator with a National Voice

Senator Adeola is no stranger to legislative excellence. Having previously served in the Lagos State House of Assembly, the Federal House of Representatives, and as a Senator for Lagos West in the 8th and 9th Assemblies, his transition to representing his ancestral home of Ogun West has been nothing short of seamless. It is a rare political journey—rooted in experience, expertise, and deep connection to the grassroots.

Within just two years of service (2023–2025), Senator Yayi has sponsored and co-sponsored over 15 bills and numerous motions aimed at improving fiscal policy,

border security, infrastructure, rural development, and youth empowerment. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, he has played a pivotal role in overseeing the preparation and passage of the 2024 and 2025 national budgets—ensuring that national resources are prudently allocated and that Ogun West receives its fair share of developmental attention.

Development That Speaks for Itself

Senator Yayi’s tenure has been marked by unparalleled constituency outreach and infrastructure development. Some of his key achievements between 2023 and 2025 include:

Construction and rehabilitation of rural roads across Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, and

Yewa North to improve trade and ease mobility.

Installation of solar-powered street lights and boreholes in communities such as Oke-Odan, Ilara, Ilaro, and Atan, addressing long-standing issues of electricity and potable water.

Building and equipping modern classroom blocks, ICT centers, and health clinics to raise the standard of education and primary healthcare across the senatorial district.

Facilitation of federal employment opportunities and skill acquisition programs for thousands of Ogun West youths and women through collaborations with government agencies such as SMEDAN, NDE, and NITDA.

Empowerment Beyond Politics

Senator Yayi has always believed that true representation means improving lives directly. His empowerment programs between 2023 and 2025 have touched lives across all five local governments of Ogun West—Yewa North, Yewa South, Ipokia, Imeko-Afon, and Ado-Odo/Ota. These include:

Distribution of hundreds of tricycles, sewing machines, grinding machines, and agricultural equipment to farmers and artisans.

Provision of educational grants, bursaries, and JAMB/WAEC registration support to indigent students.

Sponsorship of medical outreach programs and community-based health interventions, bringing much-needed relief to rural dwellers.

A Symbol of Accessible Leadership

What stands out the most about Senator Yayi is not just the volume of his achievements, but the consistency of his engagement with the people. Through regular town hall meetings, community visits, and stakeholder forums, he has demonstrated a deep respect for the voices of his constituents. He remains a Senator who not only represents his people in Abuja—but carries them with him in every policy decision.

Conclusion

As a fellow political actor and admirer of progressive governance, I salute Senator Adeola Solomon Olamilekan Yayi for these two impactful years. His stewardship in the National Assembly has reaffirmed his place as one of Nigeria’s most effective, respected, and visionary lawmakers. Ogun West is indeed fortunate to have him, and Nigeria is better for his service.

May the next years be even more fruitful. May his legacy continue to inspire a new generation of leaders committed to people-first governance.

Congratulations once again, Distinguished Senator Yayi.

Ogun West is proud. Nigeria is watching. And history will remember.

Signed,

Hon. Bolaji Oyeleye BJ

(S.A Southwest to Deputy Senate President /

Commissioner for Environment 2015-19)
