

The recent by-election for Remo Federal Constituency held on August 16, 2025 has concluded with the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs. Adesola Elegbeji emerging victorious has been attributed to the influence and developmental achievements of the state governor, Prince Adedapo Oluseun Abiodun, MFR.
IPAC, NNPP and Labour Party have called for calm, urging all parties to accept the outcome and prioritize the state’s stability.
Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu, Ogun State Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), stressed the importance of peaceful elections and legal redress.
“Nobody prayed for anybody to give a slum or to die if my candidate won the election,” Sanyaolu said. “If there is anything that is not okay for all the political parties, I believe what we should do is to just take them to court. That’s what I believe. I just want peace in the state.”


Comrade Olaposi Oginni, National Secretary of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), acknowledged the APC’s win and the governor’s role in the outcome. “One of the reasons why I thought the election went in Favour of the ruling party is the fact that the governor of the state came from that constituency, and the mega project he has delivered is incontestable,” Oginni stated. He added, “As an opposition, we don’t every time come out and say that we want to criticize; it must be a constructive criticism. There will be other opportunities for political parties to contest elections.”
Comrade Abayomi Arabambi, National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, praised the governor’s leadership and vision, crediting the APC’s victory to the administration’s achievements. “The result of that by-election has demonstrated the governor as a leader—someone who inspires, motivates, and guides others towards championship,” Arabambi said. He urged, “Whoever has any issue against that election should please go to court. We do not want anybody form any trouble or engaging in any act that can breach peace.”
