The Mobile Phone Dealers and Technicians Association of Ogun State (MOPDATEC) on Wednesday June 4, 2025 held its leadership election, ushering in a new team to guide the association forward. The election held, saw the emergence of new officials, with results reflecting strong participation from members.
The newly elected leaders are:
- Obadina Hammed Olagoke – Chairman (223 votes)
- Ajao Omotayo – Vice Chairman (221 votes)
- Comr. Owumi Daniel – General Secretary (220 votes)
- Osiawe Chijioke Simon – Treasurer (220 votes)
- Wasiu Adetayo Olamilekan .S – Financial Secretary (221 votes)
- Ayero Rasaq Babatunde – Public Relations Officer (PRO) (218 votes)
- Ogunkoya Rasaq Akanni – Welfare Director (219 votes)
The election saw a total of 226 to 227 ballot papers distributed across various positions, with voter turnout remaining high. While a few void ballots were recorded, the results indicate a decisive mandate for the newly elected officials.
With the slogan “Aseyori… Ajose Gbogbo Wa Ni” displayed on the election poster, the new leadership emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the interests of mobile phone dealers and technicians in Ogun State.


Speaking after the election, the chairman-elect, Obadina Hammed Olagoke, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to strengthening the professional network within Abeokuta Computer Village and beyond.
MOPDATEC members and stakeholders have expressed optimism about the new leadership, anticipating improvements in operational standards, welfare policies, and advocacy for better business conditions.
The association continues to play a vital role in the technology and telecommunications industry within Ogun State, offering essential services to consumers and fostering professional development among its members.
