In a bold step toward bridging educational gaps and igniting the potential of young Nigerians, the Daramola Dynasty Foundation (DDF) marked this year’s Children’s Day with a transformative literacy initiative, “Tools to Learn, Wings to Fly.” Held at Iyankan High School, Isara Remo, on May 30, 2025, the event reinforced the foundation’s commitment to fostering a culture of learning.
A forgotten, dust-laden library was revitalized into an inviting space for intellectual growth. Newly furnished chairs, neatly arranged tables, and shelves stocked with carefully selected books reshaped the room into a hub of possibility. Reading has long been recognized as a catalyst for cognitive development—enhancing mental agility, sharpening focus, enriching vocabulary, and strengthening imagination. With this transformation, students now have a sanctuary where they can expand their minds, explore new perspectives, and cultivate the confidence to dream beyond their immediate realities.
One of the most impactful moments of the day was the donation of a brand-new laptop—an invaluable tool in bridging the digital divide. For students in underserved communities, access to technology opens doors to limitless opportunities and a future that suddenly feels more tangible.
Yet, the highlight of the day was the students themselves. Their eager voices filled the space as they read aloud with confidence, tackled challenging words, and posed insightful questions to deepen their understanding. Interactive literacy activities, spelling bees, and motivational talks created an electrifying atmosphere that redefined learning—not as a routine task, but as an empowering journey.

Excellence was also celebrated, as high-achieving students were recognized for their dedication and perseverance. Cash prizes were awarded to those who had demonstrated remarkable discipline and resilience, reinforcing the value of hard work and consistency.
Reflecting on the event’s impact, Adedoyin Adeeso, Operations Manager at the Daramola Dynasty Foundation, emphasized:
“Science has proven time and again that a reading culture enhances not only academic performance but long-term quality of life. Readers think critically, solve problems effectively, and contribute meaningfully to society. Today’s initiative aligns with our commitment to SDG 4—Quality Education. Every child deserves access to knowledge, regardless of where they are born.”
The Vice Principal, Mrs. Ikumapayi, captured the essence of the day with heartfelt gratitude:
“This goes beyond improving facilities. It’s the kind of support that reminds our students that they matter. It gives them wings and shows them they can be anything they choose to be.”
What unfolded at Iyankan High School was more than a literacy outreach—it was a reaffirmation of possibility. It was a day that reassured every child present that with the right tools and belief, their dreams are valid and their futures can be bright.
