Abuja — August 11, 2025
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a further extension of the grace period for enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit regulation, shifting the new compliance deadline to October 2, 2025.
This directive, approved by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, comes in response to a surge in applications through the official portal, indicating increased public awareness and adherence to the policy.
According to a statement issued by DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, the extension will allow for thorough vetting of applications to ensure permits are granted strictly to qualified individuals, in alignment with national security protocols.
“The Force is committed to maintaining the integrity of the permit system and preventing abuse,” the statement read. “This additional time will support the refinement of both digital and physical verification processes.”

Citizens are reminded that the only authorized platform for permit applications is https://possap.gov.ng, and are urged to ignore unofficial channels. The NPF also encourages the public to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing via the dedicated hotline: 08147818871.
The Police Force expressed gratitude for the cooperation of Nigerians and reaffirmed its dedication to balancing public convenience with effective security measures.
