Ogun Police Rescues Missing Girl, Arrest Suspects

The Ogun State Police Command, has announced the rescue of a missing seven years old girl from Ota, in the Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state during a covert operation spearheaded by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

Reports had it that the operation, which was led by the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, culminated in the girl’s recovery in Ayetoro, Ogun State, and the arrest of all suspects linked to the abduction.

The State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, disclosed the development in a statement released on Sunday evening.

According to the statement, the rescue was the result of swift action and intelligence-driven efforts by the Anti-Kidnapping team.

“On a swift covert operation by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, the Ota missing girl was found in Ayetoro Ogun State by the Anti-Kidnapping team, and all suspects have been arrested,” the statement read.

The police assured the public that more details about the operation, the suspects, and the circumstances surrounding the girl’s abduction would be provided during a press briefing scheduled for tomorrow by CP Lanre Ogunlowo.

The police spokesperson urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.

Recall that it had been reported of the missing girl and the arrest of some policemen who requested for N40,000 from the distraught mother of the missing girl before taking action.
