

Four students were killed on Wednesday, while returning home from school in Sowo village axis of Owode-Abeokuta dual carriage, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Reports had it that the accident happened when a Toyota Corolla car rammed on them on a walk way.
Newsjaunts reports that the driver of the vehicle was said to be overspeeding and suddenly lost control to knock down the innocent male pupils of Iddo Primary School, Iddo Kobape, who thereafter lost their lives.
According to the Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the sad incident, adding that the four victims were later transported to State Hospital Sokenu Abeokuta where they were certified dead


“According to eyewitnesses, 4 male children of Iddo Primary School,Iddo Kobape were walking home from school and Toyota Corolla (inbound Abeokuta) was over speeding, lost control and rammed into 4 pupils on the walkaway.
“The impact of the collision reportedly lead to the death of the four pupils at the spot of the accident”, Akinbiyi stated
Newsjaunts further reports that Akinbiyi said the remains of the innocent pupils were later handed over to their families for burial, explaining that the sad incident resulted in protest by the community, which totally affected vehicular movement for hours, but normalcy later returned on the road.
Akinbiyi, further added that as at the time of filing this report the accidental vehicle had been towed to the Motor Traffic Department (MTD) at Ibara Divisional Police Headquarters in Abeokuta.
