In a historic milestone for the ancient kingdom of Ifo, the Ogun State Government has officially ratified and approved the selection of prominent billionaire businessman, philanthropist, and real estate tycoon, Otunba Olumide Atanda Osunsina, as the new Olu of Ifo Land.
Following the official government gazette, he will henceforth be traditionally revered and addressed as His Royal Majesty, Oba Olumide John Atanda Osunsina (Òsómẹkùn l)
In strict compliance with age-old customs and the legal provisions guiding traditional accessions, the monarch-elect has formally relinquished all his honorary chieftaincy titles, including his prominent title as Otunba. This traditional step fulfills the ultimate custom required before a chief can transition into wearing the crown of his ancestors
The official ratification follows a previous unanimous endorsement by the kingdom’s accredited kingmakers, who voted with one voice to select the real estate leader to occupy the vacant royal stool. The formal approval by the state government completely aligns with the established traditional rules, chieftaincy laws, and official government gazet.
