Ondo SSG, Oluwatuyi Dies after Car Accident

The Ondo State Government has announced the death of its Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi.

Oluwatuyi, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2025, after being involved in a car accident, some weeks earlier.

In a statement signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, stated that the late SSG sustained critical injuries in a ghastly car accident on Sunday, December 15, 2024, while traveling to Ibadan. Despite receiving medical attention, he could not survive the injuries.

While describing Hon. Oluwatuyi as a dedicated public servant, the Ondo State Government highlighted his immense contributions to the development of the state through his administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation efforts.

“Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi served Ondo State with distinction and was an instrumental figure in the government’s drive for progress. His work as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and as a two-time SSG is a testament to his unwavering dedication and selflessness,” the statement read.

The government also extended its condolences to his family, friends, and associates.

“We are deeply saddened by this loss and stand with the Oluwatuyi family in this moment of grief,” it added.

Hon. Oluwatuyi, who hailed from Akure, was known for his collaborative efforts with the Governor and other top officials across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

His burial arrangements will be announced in due course, the government stated.
