The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is fully prepared to take over government in 2027 and change the tide from hardship and suffering to prosperity.
The Director-General of the Campaign Council of the PDP in Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Nurudeen Adekanbi, made the declaration during a meeting of members of the PDP Campaign Council held at the party Secretariat in Arinlese, Abeokuta, where party leaders and campaign committee members reviewed preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The Campaign Council expressed confidence in the ability of the PDP to secure a landslide victory, attributing the expected success to the quality of candidates presented by the party and growing demand among Nigerians for improved governance and people-oriented leadership.
Adekanbi said the PDP was well-positioned to win the 2027 elections, stressing that the party’s candidates were not only credible but also prepared and committed to serving the people.

According to him, the quality of candidates fielded by the party remained one of its strongest assets going into the elections, noting that they possess the credibility, experience and commitment required to provide effective representation and responsive leadership.
He assured party members that the Campaign Council would vigorously take the PDP’s message of good governance, accountability and people-oriented programmes to every ward and community across Abeokuta South.
Adekanbi urged voters to support the PDP at all levels, including the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, and his running mate, Alhaja Lateefat Kolapo-Sowunmi, Senatorial candidate for Ogun Central, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, House of Representatives candidate for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Chief Toyin Amuzu and the State House of Assembly candidates, Olufunbi Majekodunmi for Constituency 1 and Adeoye Adeniran Adewale for Constituency 2.
He maintained that the election presented an opportunity for the people to choose leaders capable of responding to their economic and social challenges, while calling on PDP members to remain united and focused in their mobilisation efforts.
Other members of the Campaign Council also expressed their readiness to work collectively towards rescuing the people from the prevailing hardship through programmes designed to improve livelihoods, create opportunities and put the interests of ordinary citizens at the centre of governance.
The PDP Abeokuta South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sakiru Sanusi, charged party members to work with unity, dedication and commitment towards strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and mobilising voters across the local government.
Sanusi emphasised the importance of sustained grassroots engagement, urging members to take the party’s message directly to the people and build a formidable structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
The meeting was attended by prominent party leaders, including a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Alhaji Fasiu Bakene, the State Secretary of the party, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo, members of the Ogun State PDP Executive Committee, local government executives, campaign council members and other party leaders and stakeholders.
