Chief Toyin Amuzu, a prominent Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Egba-born traditional leader, has praised the party’s Caretaker Committee, led by Hon. Dada Awoleye, the revered financier and leader of the party in the state, Chief Oladipupo Adebutu, other leaders and members for a successful and peaceful Congress across Ogun State.

In a statement, Chief Amuzu congratulated the newly elected executives and delegates across the 236 wards, noting that the peaceful conduct of the Congress sent a strong message of unity and readiness to work together to rescue the people from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chief Toyin Amuzu popularly called TA, specially commended the leaders, newly elected executives and all members in Abeokuta South, describing them as a beacon of hope for the needed change to emancipate the people.

He also celebrated the party’s 26th anniversary, a day after the Congress, saying the PDP would continue to live up to the expectations of its founding fathers.

Chief Amuzu welcomed members to the new Month of September, praying for God’s protection and increased unity within the party.

He advised new members to understudy the party to understand how and why forming a formidable team only can win elections and not by causing avoidable disaffection.

“According to him, ” we all must work together for the success of the party. If it is all about service, let people see us doing things that would better our people and improve our society. This can be achieved with unity of purpose.”

The Asiwaju Leragun Egba said the PDP is a responsible and organised political party guided by rules and regulations which promotes equity, justice, fairness and a level playing ground for all.

He also advised those vying for elective positions in the forthcoming local government elections to be up and doing as the people are tired with the ruling party, stressing that “if we work hard, we would win glaringly”.

The peaceful Congress is seen as a significant step towards a united front for the PDP in Ogun State, ahead of future elections.
