

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed confidence of a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections, as the party today inaugurated its Abeokuta South Local Government Campaign Council and unveiled its leadership ahead of the polls.
The campaign council is headed by Hon. Nurudeen Adekanbi as Director-General (DG), while Hon. Olanrewaju Ebenezer Sowunmi serves as Deputy Director-General (DDG).
Speaking at the inauguration, the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Hon. Nurudeen Adekanbi declared that the PDP was well-positioned to win the 2027 elections, stressing that the party’s candidates were not only credible but also prepared and committed to serving the people.
The Campaign Council Chairman said the quality of candidates presented by the party remained one of its strongest assets going into the 2027 elections.


He noted that the candidates had the credibility, experience and readiness required to provide effective representation and responsive leadership, assuring that the campaign council would take the PDP’s message of good governance and people-oriented leadership to every ward and community in Abeokuta South.
He further expressed optimism that with the renewed mobilisation and unity among party members, the PDP would emerge victorious at the polls.
The PDP Abeokuta South Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sakiru Sanusi, who formally unveiled the campaign council, charged members to work with unity, dedication and commitment towards strengthening the party’s structure and mobilising voters across the local government.
The inauguration was held today at the PDP Abeokuta South Local Government Secretariat and was attended by party leaders including the Deputy-Governorship Candidate of the PDP Alhaja Lateefat Kolapo Sowunmi, House of Representatives Candidate for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Chief Toyin Amuzu, a member of the BOT of the Party Alhaji Fasiu Bakene, State secretary of the party Alhaji Semiu Sodipo, executives and members, alongside other members of the Ogun State PDP Executive Committee.
The inauguration marks the beginning of a more intensive grassroots mobilisation campaign in Abeokuta South as the PDP prepares to engage voters and build momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
